Aaagh... it's been a long time without an update!
Or maybe not that long... but it sure feels like a long time to me.
I've been churning out drawings in my 100 drawings class, working on my little toy block robots in my cube form class, jutting around tokyo, and even going bowling! (sadly I don't have any pictures of the bowling... arg!)
But all and all I've been having a great time! Yay!
I found an *AWESOME* camera shop in Nakano too!
It has good prices for used and new lenses, but that's not the awesome part. The awesome part is the "junk" section!
It's a few shelves of lenses and cameras that are deemed to not be in good shape, but not to be so worthless that they should be thrown out. Some are almost completely broken, other ones only have a few superficial scratches.
I picked up a 70-300 sigma zoom lens for 10 bucks (can only go to the lowest f/stop), and a 18-55mm canon lens for 30 bucks (has a scratch on it? ha?) normally the sigma lens sells for about 150 dollars, and the canon lens for around 250 dollars.
AWESOME. Also a great oldschool monopod for 15 dollars, and a nikon case that normally sells for fifty bucks for 70 yen (less than a buck).
Tokyo is a terrible place to buy new lenses, but the best place in the world to buy used ones!
Um, some tokyo pictures? Dunno.
Also... more macro picture!!
See that strange moth thing? I don't know if this is its real name, but I've always called it the hummingbird moth. This is in no way an exaggeration. Its wings move as fast as a hummingbirds, and it zips around like it's cracked out of its cute little head.
I'm pretty sure I looked more than a little crazy hopping all over the place after it...
Requested picture time! Oyobe sensei on the left, and Seattle (haha, nickname, she studied in America during highschool...) on the right!
Oyobe Sensei is the teacher of my block creation class and has been incredibly awesome to me since I've been here, and Seattle is my translator in said block class, and has also been very awesome (and patient... ha...) as well.
And... this is why I don't put more pictures of me up! I'm a narcissist that hates to see pictures and drawings of myself... maybe it doesn't line up with the more idolized version of myself in my own mind? Probably.
but yup! I have to go now... I'll try and update even more often!
(p.s. OH MAN I AM GOING TO HAVE THE MOST AWESOME SCHEDULE FOR NEXT SEMESTER EVER.)
