GAAH, well I have six minutes to write this blog post before I'm late to class, so lets see how much I can belt out shall we?

1. Me and one of my japanese classes went out drinking and eating and socializing! yaaay! It was actually a hell of a lot of fun, and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves a whole lot. And when I say I went out with the japanese class, I'm not just talking about the students. Two teachers also joined up with us, and very happily poured cups of beer and passed around the plates of food. (legal drinking age here is 20 of course). They also *paid* for a huge amount of it. Considering I ate enough to make myself completely full about twice over, including drinks and snacks, and in the end only paid around 10 bucks? Not a bad deal.

It made me very happy.

2.I bought a new lens for my camera! It's the canon 50mm f/1.8 lens. And boy, is it cheap. But in a good way. I paid about 85 bucks for it (in a market where most decent cameras start at around 300), and it takes some FANTASTIC pictures.

I mean, for what I paid anyways. It's a prime lens, so it can't zoom, it has all plastic construction ('cept for the lenses themselves, those are fine glass), and the zoom is noisy, but the pictures themselves are quite good.

I did a 1:1 zoom in so you can see how it actually managed to capture quite a bit of detail that would otherwise be unseeable.

and a spider! (I still really do need to invest in a good macro lens, but, later.)

Lots of other cool stuff that I should really talk about, but my six minutes are up! So, I'll leave you with an update to my strange drawing I'm still working on. Yup.
